Long-term growth with a clear ownership strategy
At Reflector, ownership is strongly linked to the company’s origin story, values, and responsibility.
Ownership is not about seeking quick profits; rather, in addition to increasing the company’s value, the primary goal is to build a company where employees thrive and clients appreciate.
Reflector’s ownership strategy is based on the same values from which the company was originally founded: the desire to create a good workplace for ourselves and others. The company’s founders have always managed Reflector with a long-term perspective and careful consideration, developing the company continuously.
This is an important message to our clients as well: we are committed and we are not going anywhere. Reflector is like a family business in nature—it develops and grows, but does not become inflated.
Owners
Reflector’s original founders Seme Hokynar and Ilkka Lilius own Reflector in equal 50/50 shares. They work on Reflector’s client projects as enterprise architect and solution architect.

Growth stems from people and meaningful work
We want to grow enough to support our clients on their growth journey. At the same time, our own personnel receive varied and meaningful projects to work on.
The appropriate company size enables individual projects or economic fluctuations not to destabilize operations. We can take care of our people even when someone is temporarily without a project.
Our goal is not to grow into a company of hundreds of people, but to remain a human-sized expert firm where everyone knows each other and collaboration is smooth. In recent years, we have grown moderately while strengthening the company’s structure and clarifying management models.

Guidelines for growth and ownership
- Growth moderately and with a long-term perspective.
- We are a sufficiently large company for operations to be cost-effective and for us to have adequate capacity for clients. At the same time, we want to take good care of our own personnel.
- Growth stems from people and meaningful work, not from investment objectives.
- Equal and ethical compensation model.
- Management and owners actively participate in client work as experts in their respective fields.
Our story
Reflector was founded in 2009 from the desire to work in a way that feels authentic. The founders Ilkka Lilius and Seme Hokynar have worked together since 2004 and still share the same mindset and work culture. They decided to establish a company where the most important aspects would be value-based work, expertise, and a good workplace for people.
Growth began naturally. Inquiries about job positions started coming from their own network of acquaintances, and soon Reflector had a team of six people. This brought the need to clarify direction and management. When Hanna Ahtola joined the company as CEO and external members joined the board, operations became more professional and revenue doubled. Through these phases, Reflector grew into an expert company of approximately 20 people.
Today, Reflector employs over 30 experts. The company is led by CEO Heli Syväoja. Ilkka and Seme operate in the space between entrepreneurship and ownership, actively participating in client projects.
Reflector’s core belief has remained unchanged over the years: doing things thoughtfully, putting people first, and always keeping the client’s benefit at heart

Today
33 person agile and experienced expert company that grows steadily and holds on to its values and original idea, namely that we wanted to offer clients a compact-sized partner and create a good workplace for ourselves.
Why was Reflector founded?
Reflector was founded so that we could have a pleasant workplace for ourselves and a compact partner for clients. This has also appealed to top experts who have wanted to come work for us. In our view, something good must remain for everyone for things to work: for clients, employees, and the company.
